Creative Nook Early Learning Centre aims to provide a warm, caring and safe environment. Your children will thrive and feel secure and supported. We believe in a holistic approach with strong focus on imagination, creativity, and freedom of choice. Children will engage in play-based education and experimental learning.
Handover
As parents and children arrive, parents sign their children using iPad. The parents will hand over the child to the educator and share any information regarding their routine, previous day and discuss any medication requirement. Additionally, parents can also share information of babies/infants routine for the day. Typically, in the morning, children of all ages group in the babies’ room until 8:30am
Breakfast is provided
The children are provided with variety of cereal, wholegrain toast with butter or vegemite. Children under 2 years are provided with full cream milk and children over 2 years are provided with lite cream milk.
Toileting and Nappy Change
Educators remind younger children to use the toilet at this time and check the little ones’ nappies. The nappies are also changed throughout the day and when required. Older children use the toilet and wash their hands when needed. All play spaces have access to the bathroom and educators are there to assist at all times.
Morning Tea
Morning Tea is served to the children in their classroom or out in the verandah. The morning tea is progressive as the children are provided with the choice to play and eat as they please
Group Sessions
Once all the educators arrive, the children group in their own classes. Group time consists of discussion on children’s interest like book reading, news time, numeracy or literacy sessions. The group time is a pathway to various activities that will be provided to the children throughout the day. Educators also take this opportunity to talk to children about topics of the week. Such as road safety, healthy eating, healthy teeth, sun smart, sustainability, cultures etc.
Learning through play
Children have the opportunity to play in our indoor and outdoor environment during this time. The educators plan intentional activities to support children’s interests. The children also have the opportunity to engage in imaginative, creative, and playful activities throughout this time. Our educators spend one on one time during this time to engage in school readiness program with children whom will be attending primary school.
Lunch time
A nutritional meal is provided for kids during lunch time. Lunch is served at different times in each room.

(2-3 years) 11:30am
(3-5years) 12pm
Sleep/Rest or quite time
Older children are given the opportunity to sleep or engage in quiet play such as reading books or playing puzzles. The length of time and their need for sleep varies from each room and the individual child. Of course, infants and toddlers sleep when they require as per their individual routine. Please let us know if your child has any specific requirement.
Afternoon tea
Afternoon tea usually consist of serve of fruit and fresh vegetable along with carb-based food. The afternoon tea is also progressive, allowing the children to eat when they want.
Learning through play
During this time, children engage in indoor and outdoor. play. The resources and activities are chosen by children and are arranged to support their social skill development. Children can be seen: running, jumping, climbing, playing a game, completing puzzles, creating constructions using various blocks and connectors, playing in the sand-pit, or relaxing. This time around, we also organise various extracurricular activities for children.
Late snack
A late snack is provided to the children indoor or outdoor, weather permitting.
Closing time
Throughout the afternoon, parents arrive to collect their children. Parents will have the opportunity to communicate with their children’s primary educators and share information about their children’s day. Parents also receive daily updates via our communication app from their room educators describing the highlights of the day and their routines. Additionally, you will also receive email notification about upcoming events and the important information through communication app from the Service Provider or lead educators.
